I wish I could give a 5 star review but unfortunately I cannot. Took my car in to have it looked at, was given a list of repairs, normal. A skilled family member of mine offered to fix my car if I paid for the parts. I was quoted for repairs that didn't NEED to be done on my car. I was told my brake pads were at about 5% and I needed new rotors as well, my trans fluid was black/ super burnt so they recommended a trans servicing, they said my front axles and control arms needed replaced, and that my rear differential needed to be replaced as well. Top 3 things on the list that they said needed to be repaired; control arms, axels, and the rear differential. My professionally trained and mechanically skilled family member said they didn't even check my trans fluid, not even the dip stick. My brakes have about 50% left on them so I didn't need those or rotors, and the axels didn't HAVE to be replaced, they weren't in as bad of condition as they made it seem. The control arms, yes, the bushings were falling out when the control arms were removed so they were correct on that one. But it feels like they were trying to get me to drop 3k on fixing my car when I told them my budget is $1200. If I have work that needs to be done that my family cannot help with, I'll consider coming back but I won't be coming by myself.
Hey Clare thank you for the feed back. The inspection shows the front brakes were 3-4mm which is generally when we start recommending them but not a safety concern. 2mm would be 10% or less which would make it a higher priority. There are three items that were listed as high priority. Front control arms, rear differential and possible cv axles. Tech description as indicated on inspection "Front CV axles binding believe this and control arm bushings is causing front end shake". I'm assuming the control arms must have taking care of the shake? Either way I hope your family member was able to get your vehicle back on the road and safe. I'm sorry if there was any miscommunication. We have no problem sharing our inspection with your family member in the future. I hope we can earn back your trust and make you feel comfortable bringing in your own car. If you feel it was misdiagnosed or something was recommend that shouldn't have been. Feel free to contact me I will make it right. Thank you for the business - Ben Armstead
